Forever gift
Bequests
Below we have provided a template for you to use to leave a donation in your will
By leaving a gift in your will, you can help Queenslanders have better access to services aimed at the prevention of suicide. Your gift, no matter how big or how small, will make a difference.
Suicide is the leading cause of death for people aged between 15 - 44, its effects are wide reaching and devastating; that is where your gift can not only create a lasting impact, but a lasting legacy.
Information and advice on the wording of your will is available in the template below
What type of gifts can you leave in your will?
Gift of a specific legacy
This is a gift in the form of a specified amount of cash, assets, real estate or shares left. Most donors will chose to nominate a percentage of their estate instead as it may be many years before your gift can be realised. In any case, we are very grateful for your support to prevent suicide in Queensland.
Gift of residue
A residual gift equates to the remainder of of your estate after your debts have been paid and provisions for your loved ones have been named in your will. You can choose to leave this amount to Suicide Prevention Queensland.
This also ensures that your bequest retains value over time.
Gift of percentage in estate
A gift of percentage allows you to leave whole or part of your estate to Suicide Prevention Queensland.
Gifts in memoriam
Making a donation in lieu of flowers in memory of a loved one is a lasting way to honour them.
Just one death by suicide can affect up to 135 people, and a memorial donation offers a meaningful way to remember a loved one while contributing to our vision of Queensland communities free of suicide.
We understand that this is a very personal decision to make, and we thank you for considering Suicide Prevention Queensland.
If you wish to seek assistance in making the donation process hassle free, please fill out the enquiries form below and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
